External sources, not insiders, were behind the loss of eleven million confidential tax haven documents

Although the initial reports said that there was an internal whisleblower, the huge data leak has now been blamed on hackers.

Do you think that this is true?
Why might the company say this if it is not true?
Who might be worried about this leak?
What action do you think will be taken and by whom?

  1. I don't think it's true that a hacker is the one responsible for the leaks but on the other hand we can't really be sure if it was someone from within the company either. The company might say that a hacker was the one responsible since if it were someone from within the company it may lose its reliability and not many customers would pay for this company's services, resulting in a declining profit for them until they eventually go bankrupt. It has been said that 72 people had their files leaked, many of which were related to money laundering, these should be the ones who are worried about their data being leaked, including Russia's president Putin. I think Mossack Fonseca will be taking action even if they say that it was a hacker and this isn't true they will still make it as if they're reinforcing their security so that it is more believable.
